Let us take you on a recent renovation tour.

Here we are in Varsity Estates in this beautiful estate home directly across from the golf course and we’re here to do the 2011 renovation tour. These wonderful clients have graciously allowed us to open their homes. We’ve done this a fair amount over the years and found that clients love to see the space completed, an actual home, and the workmanship that Pinnacle provides.

 This home was a whole-home renovation. In other words, we completed two floors, shuffled walls, and did a lot of reconfiguring to meet the needs of this particular family. You’ll see we’ve completely reconfigured the traffic lines on the main floor. We’ve just created some gorgeous spaces and fabulous finishes. This particular client brought us a scrapbook of all their design ideas. A European family that was well connected to European design and wanted to implement some of those little details in their home here in Varsity Estates.

Let’s look at some design elements that came into this home. First, we see very traditional design elements on the main floor. But as you enter the ensuite, you’ll see a transitional curve into a contemporary flare. We did a lot of reconfiguring in this area. The master bedroom was oversized with a very small ensuite. It was quite a cramped ensuite space. So, we captured some room from the master bedroom and reconfigured the whole space.

We have the three-inch mitered-edge Carrera marble that you see on the countertops here. Glass vessel sinks, glass enclosure for the bidet and toilet, and a beautiful shower area — and, of course, a make-up desk area, as well as a free-standing tub. This beautiful project includes a steam shower and inflow radiant floors on a 24 x 24 tile.

Here we are in this gorgeous kitchen. There are a couple of things I would like to point out. There are apron sinks in both the primary sink area and the prep sink on the island, and hand-rubbed cabinetry that the client was very excited about. The cabinetry here has a cream base with olive chalk that picks up the olive color on the granite, so it’s a wonderful marriage between the two finishes.

We’ve got a four-burner gas stove by Miele (PRONOUNCED MEE-LA) and, of course, the Miele speed oven and a Liebherr fridge. It’s an integrated built-in fridge unit with panels that match the cabinetry. And here is a custom hood canopy that we built from the customer’s photo that they provided.

Another element to point out here is the granite finishes. Again, it’s just great to marry up some unique finishes. First, we’ve got a square edge on the profile with polished granite. And then on the island area, we’ve got a Roman edge with leather granite. Just a fabulous finish! it’s a fairly new technique in granite.  it’s not sandblasting; it’s considered leather, so there’s a matte finish to it.

The detail behind the cooktop is a pencil rail that frames the detail with tumbled travertine and a glass in-laid tile. These are just some great elements that create a lot of the traditional feel and yet keep it elegant at the same time.
